Flower Essences
“The body becomes the battlefield for the war games of the mind”

The Bach flower essences comprise of a series of 38 flower essences formulated by Dr Bach in the early 20th century. These essences capture the vibrational energetic imprint of flowers, plants and trees to help us deal with the every-day difficulties, past traumas, self-sabotaging habits and emotional obstacles that we all face from time to time. They encourage us to grow spiritually and help us to reconnect to our true selves so that we can become whole, grounded, stable, and able to deal with life’s adversities with a greater degree of equanimity and competence.
When we use Flower essences we are tapping into the inherent wisdom of plants, trees and the natural world, recruiting their help. If you feel over-whelmed, exhausted, abandoned, lost, powerless or stuck in a hamster wheel, then Flower Essences could be right for you. Try it now and you may find that a renewed sense of self-assurance and self-guidance will replace that vague fogginess as you move more comfortably and confidently through your world.
A Flower Essence treatment
Bach flower essences can be bought individually from most health stores or a selection can be mixed to make a bespoke combination remedy. Until you are fully familiar with working with flower essences and in order to gain the full benefit, it is strongly recommended that you initially use the services of a properly trained BFVEA practitioner such as myself. (or see the BFVEA website to find a practitioner near you. www.bfvea.com) They might be taken to help us through a variety of short term, acute emotional stresses, (e.g. exam nerves, weddings, bereavements, accidents, job interviews etc.) This would normally require just one essence or perhaps a combination of essences to help us through that moment. The well-known “Rescue Remedy” is an example of a successful generic combination remedy.
Taking a course of Flower Essence treatments
Or essences can be taken as part of a longer-term programme to help us move on from some of life’s bigger challenges. This will usually involve a course of consultations. The first Bach Flower consultation is likely to take about 2 hours. We will spend some time discussing the issues you would like to address. Whilst this cannot and should not be considered as counselling, it will be necessary to determine which of the essences will be most appropriate for your circumstances. To assist in this intellectual process, we will also utilise pendulum dowsing for extra guidance.
By using this technique, we will be accessing information at a deeply intuitive level and working with naïve emotional genuineness.
To enhance its effectiveness, flower essence therapy requires a degree of introspection, honesty and self-examination. If you opt for a course of treatments, subsequent sessions will usually last about 1½ hours and will normally be scheduled at fortnightly or 3 weekly intervals. We will determine a new combination remedy at each session. As each essence does its work in helping to shift energetic or emotional blocks, another set of essences will become relevant to tackle the next obstacle and thus each combination remedy is invariably different from the previous one. Over time, it may be seen that a pattern will emerge, allowing us to formulate a longer term, bespoke combination remedy that is suitable for you at the end of the course.
When you subscribe to a course of flower essence consultations, you are taking a bold and brave step towards re-connecting with your true self and regaining your personal power. Here at Concordia, you will find a safe, caring and nurturing atmosphere so that you can be as open as you wish and as comfortable as possible. It can be expected that a full course will be about 6 or 7 sessions, but it could be more or less depending on the individual. Whilst the emphasis will be on using Bach flower essences, different vibrational essences might be used, and it is quite possible that elements of reflexology, reiki or other energy-balancing techniques may also be employed during these sessions. Flower essences only contain water, brandy as a preservative and the vibrational energy of the plant.
Alcohol free options are available, but as only a few drops are taken at a time and usually in water, they are considered to be completely safe for adults, children and animals alike. If you have any questions regarding flower essence therapy, or to find out if it would be a suitable option for you, please feel free to ask me.
